Why are people lining up for coffee in Blackrock?

Hatch Coffee Opens in Blackrock.

Is Hatch Coffee the best coffee in Blackrock?

It's official, Hatch have opened another one of their highly popular sandwich and coffee shops in Blackrock Village Main Street last week. A very welcome addition by locals. Having started originally in Glasthule, Hatch have become a well-known coffee brand and lunch spot in South Dublin. Their loyal customers have followed them to Blackrock and I'd like to find out why. A small queue for their 3fe coffee is now a common scene outside their industrial concrete shopfront on a Saturday morning.

With Blackrock Main Street now a one way street, there are wide outdoor picnic table and bench areas available along the main street. Utilising this outdoor seating, Hatch have become a popular 'Lockdown Spot' for those who just need their flat white at 54 degree celsius and rainbow coleslaw in their farmhouse wrap! Coffees are made by friendly and chatty baristas with the very popular 3fe Irish coffee brand. 3fe coffee can also be bought from their website. For the moment they are just serving takeaway and a convenient and spacious oneway system has been set up allowing people to move from order, to pay, to collection with ease and social distancing.

As well as barista made coffee and gourmet sandwiches, Hatch's range of pastries and baked goods are hailed on Tripadviser as '"beautiful" and "delicious". As for the line, the many Tripadviser reviews assure other users that it's "worth the wait!". I couldn't agree more. I picked up a bag of their homemade flapjack cookies to save some for later and did not regret it.

Located just 60 seconds from the sea, with the new cycle lanes added all the way up the Merrion and Rock roads, why not cycle down to this lunch spot in blackrock for coffee by the sea and see what all the fuss is about!

  1. I agree hatch coffee make a great coffee and they are also eco friendly. Their coffee cups are fully compostible and customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable cup or bottle for other drinks. Discounts are also available for those using reusable coffee cups.

Hatch coffee is becoming increasingly known for their great coffee and the customers keep coming back for more. Its a family business and customers will see the same regular staff members. The quality of their coffee is only surpassed by the quality of their snacks, which are delicious.
I would give hatch coffee my highest recommendation.

  3. It’s no brainer that Hatch is becoming one of Dublin’s must go to places for breakfast or lunch. Their modern yet industrial infrastructure is hard to not notice and is very striking.
The café itself serves delicious wraps, sandwiches, pastries and high-quality coffee. Thus, in return gained them a cult following of loyal customers, lining up every single day.

Although they only do take-out options, this wouldn’t be a problem as Hatch’s service is impeccable and they make sure that your overall experience is hassle free. It’s good that they have expanded into Blackrock as they are providing a good place for the locals to congregate amongst one another. Hatch is surely worth the visit if you are around the area…
